Final Fantasy VII Remake E3 Trailer and Special Editions Announced

With its release date finally “confirmed“https://www.glaciergaming.com/articles/2122/final-fantasy-vii-remake-finally-has-a-release-date, Square Enix has announced the special editions that will be available for purchase along with revealing the voice talent behind the iconic characters in the upcoming release.

due for release on the 3rd of March 2020 for the PlayStation 4, Final Fantasy VII Remake will come in a few different flavours. There’s the standard version of the game (as expected, as well as a Deluxe Edition and a “1st Class Edition”, which is exclusive to the Square Enix Online Store.

Deluxe Edition


Available for pre-order now, the Deluxe Edition edition comes with a sweet looking SteelBook case featuring everyone’s favourite villain, Sephiroth as well as a Mini-Soundtrack CD, a hardback artbook, and Summon Materia DLC to allow players to summon Cactuar and Carbuncle in-game.

1st Class Edition


The “1st Class Edition” comes with everything from the Deluxe Edition in addition to a Play Arts Kai Cloud Strife and Hardy Daytona. this edition is available for pre-order from the Square Enix Online Store only in limited quantities.

Players who pre-order any version of the game will also receive the Chocobo Chick Summon Materia DLC at launch, while players who pre-order any of the digital versions from the PlayStation store will also receive a dynamic Cloud & Sephiroth theme for the PlayStation 4.

In addition to the new trailer and special eidtions, details of the game’s voice cast were unveiled, including:

  • Cloud, voiced by Cody Christian (All American, Teen Wolf)
  • Barret, voiced by John Eric Bentley (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Independence Day: Resurgence)
  • Aerith, voiced by Briana White (Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, Occupants)
  • Tifa, voiced by Britt Baron (GLOW)
  • Jessie, voiced by Erica Lindbeck (Spider-Man, Persona 5, ThunderCats Roar)
  • Biggs, voiced by Gideon Emery (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Teen Wolf)
  • Wedge, voiced by Matt Jones (Breaking Bad)
  • Sephiroth, voiced by Tyler Hoechlin (Teen Wolf, Supergirl)

Watching the new trailer, you’d be forgiven for thinking the voice actors from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children had returned for the Remake, I have to admit, I was surprised at the list. The inclusion of some of my favourite actors has me even more excited for its release.
