Square Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered will be releasing this Winter, some sixteen years after its debut on the GameCube back in 2003, and this time around will also be playable on smartphones.

The new trailer, which was shown during Square Enix’s E3 2019 presentation, gives us a clearer look at some of the remasted levels as well as the voice acting that has been added into the game – the original, much like many RPGs of the day, was all text based.

In Crystal Chronicles Remastered, players take control of an adventurer who travels the land in search of “myrrh” – a mysterious substance which serves as fuel for the Crystals that keep the deadly miasma at bay. Unlike other Final Fantasy titles, multi-player is a core feature of the game and players who work together can combine spells to release even more powerful variations.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered is due for release this Winter on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 as well as smartphones.
