During a panel at the Star Wars Celebration in Chicago, Respawn Entertainment (part of EA) announced a new story-driven Star Wars title will be making its way to consoles and PC later this year.

Set during the aftermath of Order 66 from Revenge of the Sith, Star Wars: Fallen ORder follows the young Padawan Cal Kestis as he attempts to complete his Jedi training, master the lightsaber and stay ahead of the Empire. Fallen Order will feature an entirely new storyline and will be single-player only.

“Many Star Wars fans, ourselves included, are really interested in the dark times, so we wanted to explore that mysterious, dangerous period,” said Stig Asmussen, Game Director, Respawn Entertainment. “The team at Lucasfilm have been amazing collaborators, helping us explore and further develop this part of the timeline where the Empire is at the height of its power and any remaining Jedi are in hiding. Within this narrative, we’ve crafted a game with intense, yet thoughtful and fun melee combat using the lightsaber and Force powers, allowing anyone to fulfil their Jedi fantasy.”

Cal will be introduced on the planet Bracca, a brand new location in the Star Wars universe; hiding in plain sight from the Empire, Cal has no choice but to flee when he exposes his force abilities. While on the run, Cal will meet a diverse range of characters, including some familiar faces as well as being accompanied by a new droid: BD-1 – check out the 1:26 mark in the trailer.

Star Wars: Fallen order is due for release on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC through EA’s Origin service on the 15th of November 2019.
