Despite being one of the most requested features, Sony has been dragging its heels when it comes to allowing users to change their PlayStation Online ID. After many months of testing, however, from today users with a surplus of X’s in their users can change it to something less juvenile.

You can change your Online ID as many times as you like, but like Microsoft, Sony will charge a fee of $9.99 (or $4.99 for PS+ subscribers). The first change will is free with any subsequent changes incurring a charge. If for whatever reason you decide that you no longer like your new ID, you can always change it back, free of charge.

Sony has noted there are issues with changing your ID though. Some games have a few issues, where others don’t seem to be able to handle it at all. Games with “critical issues” can be seen below. If you play any of these game, Sony recommends that you don’t change your user.

  • Disc Jam
  • Everybody’s Golf
  • Just Dance 2017
  • LittleBigPlanet 3
  • MLB 14 The Show
  • MLB The Show 16
  • MLB The Show 15

  • Worms™ Battlegrounds
