During a short Pokémon Direct live stream this afternoon, Nintendo has revealed the titles of the next main entries into the Pokémon franchise as well as a glimpse of what to expect from the Switch adventure.

Set in the Galar region (which looks suspiciously like it could be modelled on the UK), an expansive region filled with countryside, industrial looking cities, snowy mountains and more, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will be the first mainline entry released on the Nintendo Switch.

Naturally, a new generation means new Pokémon to discover; and Gamefreak did not disappoint. Revealed during the live stream were Grookey – A mischievous Chimp Pokémon that is full of boundless curiosity, Scorbunny – A Rabbit Pokémon that is always running about, bursting with energy. and Sobble – A somewhat timid Water Lizard Pokémon that shoots out attacks as it hides itself in the water.
