Nintendo Direct Mini Confirms Upcoming DLC, Updates and New Releases for this Year

In a surprise Nintendo Direct, and after weeks of fan speculation, the video games giant has confirmed a number of upcoming releases for DLC, updates and full games in the coming months for the Nintendo Switch.

The Switch seems to be going from strength to strength in regards to third an first party support. Earlier today Nintendo confirmed a number of titles coming to the console as well as DLC.

Dark Souls: Remastered

Launching on the 25th of March for the Nintendo Switch, Dark Souls Remastered makes the series’ debut on a Nintendo system. The Remastered edition will include the Artorias of the Abyss DLC as well as an improved framerate and resolution in comparison to the original

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze

The Wii U title returns with a new beginner-friendly mode which will allow players to take control of Funky Kong who has the ability to double jump, hover as well as perform infinite inline rolls and underwater corkscrews to aid players who may not feel as confident in the ordinary mode.

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze on the Nintendo Switch is due to release on the 4th of May 2018.

Mario Tennis Aces

An all-new Mario Tennis game with a new level of skill and competition. The original style of gameplay returns along with a story mode. Mario Tennis Aces will challenge your ability to watch your opponents position and stoke to determine which shot will give you the advantage.

Mario Tennis Aces is due for release on the 4th of May 2018.

Pokkén Tournament DX Battle Pack DLC

Although Pokkén DX is a port of the Wii U version, Nintendo has confirmed two new DLC Pokémon will be joining the roster. With high attack and defence, Aegislash will become playable when the first wave of the Battle Pack DLC goes live on the 31st of January along with Mega Rayqyaza and Mimikyu as new supporters.

The Battle Pack second wave will go live on the 23rd of March which introduces Blastoise as a playable character with Mew and Celebi as supports.

The DLC is available for pre-purchase now through the Nintendo eShop.
