Review Score Framework v1.1

Here at Glacier Gaming, we operate on a review scale from 1 to 10. The score given to a game takes into account a number of factors, including – but not limited to – graphics, gameplay, soundtrack, controls and much more. Here we have outlined how our reviews are scored.

FLAWLESS A game that will appeal to all demographics, not just fans of the genre. An instant classic, a must have game
AMAZING A game with amazing graphics, gameplay and plot, offering replayability, but may not appeal the mass market for one particular reason or another. Will appeal to the majority of gamers
GREAT A game will decent graphics, gameplay and plot. One that offers a certain amount of replayability. May have a tiny flaw that may irk some players. May attract new players to the genre


A decent game but there may be some issues with one of the following: Graphics, Gameplay or storyline which is outlined in the body of the article. Will still appeal to fans of the genre


A game with a unique selling point, or one that will attract existing fans of the genre only. The reason is offered in the main body of the article
AVERAGE A game you could take or leave, doesn’t bring anything new to the market, but has no significant issues provided in the main body of the article
BELOW AVERAGE A game with some minor flaws, playable for a short while, redeemed by a single factor – such as graphics, gameplay or plot (if applicable) outlined in the main body of article
FLAWED A game with some noticeable issues in terms of graphics, gameplay or plot (if applicable) stated in the main body of article
BAD A game with several major issues, such as graphics, gameplay mechanics or the game’s plot (if applicable) mentioned in the main body of article
AWFUL A game with no redeeming features whatsoever, completely unplayable for a number of reasons outlined in the main body of article

Review framework v1.1 – This framework is applicable for any review written on or after April 30th, 2016

This framework has been updated, please click here for version 1.2 which is applicable for any review written on or after the 4th of March 2017.
